While I am a city girl there is nothing I enjoy more than going to the seaside. Blakeney is probably my favourite place to escape to, but I did enjoy venturing to Mundesley beach after visiting some relatives in Gillingham.
There is something very therapeutic about the sea; the way it moves, how it sounds, and the bracing salty air that accompanies it. It is one of the best sources of happiness, to walk along a beach with no care about where you are going or what else you should be doing, simply walking on a beach with your family.
It reminds me of the E E Cummings quote: “The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” I couldn’t agree more with that statement, as while the summer break from University may seem long, and leave you feeling a little bit lost, I find focusing on actively doing something constructive, which usually involves laughter, makes a huge difference to how you feel. Whether that is walking on a beach with your family, or making dinner together, perhaps simply baking or walking alone, it is definitely worth doing.
And I would highly recommend Mundesley beach for a walk!
