Martin’s Memorial Wall

My family and I were invited today to the opening of a plaque in memory of my Dad at Nene Park Academy, one of the schools that was part of his trust, Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT).

To put it in perspective, my Dad passed away three and a half years ago so to still be revealing tributes for him is pretty special. Obviously my family and I loved him, but it’s very comforting to know that the work he started is continuing across schools in the Cambridge and Peterborough area. Especially since after family, my Dad’s favourite thing was his job.

It is a really lovely tribute to him and one he’d be very flattered at, considering in the drawing he has hair and not as many wrinkles as perhaps he did have. He’d be very flattered and undoubtedly “welling up” at the sight of it and his ongoing legacy.

This tribute also reminded me how grateful I am to have had him, and how proud I am to be his daughter *vom from all the mush sorry*.
