Calling all procrastinators, perfectionists and se Calling all procrastinators, perfectionists and self-doubting souls, today’s newsletter is for you (and me) 💖 Is your work/writing/idea not good enough? Or is that just a good enough excuse to not finish it? 🤔

Subscribe in the link in my bio to read my full thoughts on this at 6pm✍🏼
A year ago, I flew to the other side of the world A year ago, I flew to the other side of the world by myself to spend 4 weeks exploring New Zealand and Australia ✈️

I’d never been on a solo trip abroad before, let alone a solo night away, only days out or evenings at the theatre, a concert or dinner👀

Safe to say, I was terrified. The night before I left, I sobbed like a baby out of fear. What if this was a huge mistake? What if I hated it? What if something bad happened? Was this even safe for me to do?

All of that was valid and it didn’t go away for a little while, and even then it popped back up.

But then there’s a sunset, or a landscape, or an interaction with a stranger and you feel what you’ve been craving 🥹 That inner peace or feeling of wonder, exhilaration or simply that marvellous feeling of really living your life, and its MAGIC. It makes it all worth it ✨

You might be hesitant as you worry what people will think if you travel solo, or if it’s a sensible use of your money, you may have already waited so long to go that you can convince yourself to wait a bit longer. Just remember that life is short and when you’re ready, the world is out there for you, don’t rob yourself of an experience simply as you can’t find someone to go with.

In short, grab your Uniqlo bag girl and let’s go…

It was an incredible day with so many amazing speakers - including @billierwalker immense talk on girl memes & girl movies 🎀

What a dream to be included (!!) and to call a major romcom rewatch work🥹💘

Today we lost our glorious Grandma Norma 💔 Bac Today we lost our glorious Grandma Norma 💔

Back in 1990, my dad in his early twenties started off the adventure of a lifetime when he moved next door to Norma.

Since then we’ve been inseparable. While she entered our life as a neighbour, she’s quickly became family as we celebrated every birthday, Christmas, good day together, and supported each other through the worst days too. Since I was born, all I have known is Norma round the corner, Norma at the end of the phone & Norma with us at every table 💖

She was one of the most selfless, wickedly funny, kind, fiercely independent, brilliant women with a heart of gold and a head full of 90 years worth of stories (that I will sorely miss listening to).

It has been my honour to be her granddaughter (and best friend) and share in decades of adventures together from egg sandwiches on zoo trips, to Paris, puddings wherever we go to long chats, seaside days out and all the Fellowship dinners we’ve shared ♥️ yesss, she was was also the coolest Grandma around for loving Lord of the Rings and Iron Man.

What a blessing it has been to know and love you my entire life and these final few days spent together in this life I haven’t been able to stop thinking how eternally grateful that my dad bought the house next door ♥️

Norma, I love you endlessly, thank you for everything, you once in a lifetime woman. Sleep well my sweet ♥️♥️♥️

First Christmas cooking for the fam was a success First Christmas cooking for the fam was a success (mum had surgery a week ago and obvs as the eldest daughter I was volunteered as tribute to takeover😅) and nobody got food poisoning, the food was all hot, so I’ll take that as a win right? I took no photos of said food, but did capture my hair expanding from the humidity of the oven & the reindeer toy Lois ripped to shreds in sub 5 mins🙃 Happy Christmas ✨🎄🫶

It’s 3 years since I quit my full-time job to be It’s 3 years since I quit my full-time job to become a freelance writer!✨

What an incredible, exhausting, brilliant and surprising journey it’s been. I’ve poured my heart and soul into it, learnt so much through trial and error and written more words than I ever want to count. I’m forever grateful that I moved home and took the leap, and somehow I’ve made it work. I wake up everyday and write for a living which was exactly what I dreamt of when I was at school and university studying English.

I’ve made plenty of mistakes, burnout a few times, worked long hours, and somehow been the best and worst boss I’ve ever had, but I wouldn’t change a moment!

Here’s to chasing your creative dreams, building your own ladder and working to build a life that you love 🫶
