On Wednesday, Becca and I went to Bury St Edmunds and had lunch at the Giggling Squid.
I got the train to see B in between her holidays; she had just got back from tuk-tuking from Barcelona to Madrid, and now she is off to Nice on Saturday. I’m one jealous friend.
After having a cuppa and a catch up at Becca’s, we decided to head to Bury St Edmunds as I’d never been before. Bury is really quaint, similar to Stamford and York. We had a mooch round the stress and the Abbey gardens before we York so we went for lunch at the Giggling Squid.
Becca had heard good things about this place, and oh my days it was amazing! We had a one giggling squid each, which was a dish made up of four smaller dishes; there were spring rolls, jasmine rice, duck and ginger chicken. It was sensational.
We got emotional about the meal ending and I’m sad just thinking about it right now. That’s how you know it was a good meal.
It was lovely to see Becca and discuss how excited, scared, panicked we are about third year starting next flipping week. But I also realised how much I have missed being with my friends, and how much I can’t wait to be reunited with them.
Anyway, if you’re Bury or in Norwich (another location for the chain) then you have to have lunch at the Giggling Squid, you will not regret it!
